PRE K DRUMS
Kids will play hand drums, shakers, woodblocks, maracas and even get to try drum set. They will get to work on playing as a group, individually (if they would like), try some call and response and learn some very basic rhythm reading. The main thing is that they have fun! This class is great for teaching the students about rhythm, how to follow directions/listening, working with others, and just enjoy music.

The Musical Suite’s general music class is geared to give young students a strong introduction to the fun and exciting world of music. The class will focus on singing, music and movement and playing instruments of all kinds. Students will not only learn how to create music in a group with other kids their age; they will leave the class with an understanding of basic musical concepts such as steady beat, pitch, music notation, dynamics and tempo. The most important aspect of the class is that the students will have fun while learning music and build an appreciation that will last for years to come.

Are you feeling like it is time to take it to the next level? It might be time to try semi-private lessons with a fellow pre-k buddy.
These lessons are great for the pre-k student who is ready for a little more. Students will receive more time on the drumset and also more time with reading notes and learning hand technique.
Zach Field Drum Studios was started in 1999 in West Newbury, MA. After many years of giving lessons in West Newbury, the studio grew to capacity and needed more space and more instructors. Our percussion ensembles meet once a week for rehearsal at the studio. We currently have group ensembles for student 5yrs-adult. All ensembles learn how to play steel drums as well as work on pieces that involve hand drums, hand held percussion instruments and also “found objects” such as buckets and car break drums. Being in an ensemble helps the students work on group playing and put’s to use what the students are learning in their private drum lessons.
Zach started ‘The Gong Meditation Project’ in November of 2010 after trying to find ways to escape from the everyday stresses of life. After years of attempting silent meditation, he thought it would be a good idea to try and play some soothing pitched gongs to distract the mind and assist with the meditation process. After many hours of recording private gong sessions, listening back and perfecting this live meditative and healing music, Zach is pleased to share “The Gong Meditation Project” with everyone. Join us for the next meditation at Repose Yoga in the Tannery on Sunday, January 27th, 10:45-11:45am.
